Cupitt’s  has won the 2 categories at the 2016 NSW Savour Australia Restaurant & Catering Hostplus Awards for Excellence.

We are proud to be announced as the winner of both “People, Produce, Place Tourism Restaurant” and “Restaurant in a Winery”

More than 900 local restaurants, cafes and catering businesses gathered to celebrate the achievements of their peers who were judged across 75 categories, with the winners announced at the Awards for Excellence ceremony held at Luna Park, Sydney.

The Awards for Excellence is a nationally recognised, independently judged awards program that celebrates exceptional service and culinary talent across the state. The Awards for Excellence is the only program in Australia where the judging criteria is determined by consumers who rank what is important to them in the dining experience.

The Awards are judged by an independent team of trained judges who anonymously visit the venues to determine the winners. The scores are based on the entire dining experience from food to the customer service experienced when the judges anonymously dine.

R&CA CEO John Hart says, “Cupitt’s should be proud of their achievements. Running a hospitality business isn’t easy – there’s a lot of blood sweat and tears that goes into to making it work. But when you get the right mix of staff, produce and service, the results can be extraordinary.”

Cupitt’s may compete with other region finalists at the National Savour Australia Restaurant & Catering Hostplus Awards for Excellence to be held at Four Points Sheraton, Darling Harbour in Sydney on Monday 24th October 2016. Finalists will be advised of their status by 26 September.

  • 5 years experience in Commercial Kitchen (ideally a minimum of 2 years experience in a premium restaurant.)

  • Enthusiasm and passion for food and the industry
  • A desire to learn and have input into menus
  • Able to take direction and follow leadership
  • The ability to work in a busy, dynamic environment
  • Great focus and well organised.
  • Fully able to communicate in English, both written and oral.

CUPITT’S ON SYDNEY WEEKENDER

Due to our success at the 2016 NSW Tourism Awards in November 2016,  we were featured on Channel 7’s lifestyle program “Sydney Weekender” on 19 February 2017.

Cupitt’s was the only business to take home Gold awards in two categories on the night for best tourism Restaurant and best tourism Winery, Brewery and Distillery.  

Sydney Weekender is Channel Seven’s lifestyle and leisure program that goes to air throughout New South Wales and Canberra at 5:30pm on Sunday nights. Hosted by Mike Whitney, Sydney Weekender features affordable short breaks and fun things to do on the weekend for the whole family. The half-hour program, now in its 23rd year includes places to stay and eat, special offers for viewers, interesting and unexpected activities to do and see.

Sydney Weekender attracts up to half a million viewers each week and is the most popular program in its timeslot. Cupitt’s will be featured in the The Eating Out segment.   This Segment is extremely popular as it will air just before the news and will feature an “Eating Out Competition” giving viewers the chance to win a meal for two at the restaurants featured in the program .
Cupitt’s Winery founder Rosie Cupitt says, “It is an honour to be selected to represent NSW at the national awards and we are looking forward to the awards presentation on the 24th February 2017.  It is lovely to be acknowledged and featured on Sydney Weekender.  It is great exposure for Cupitt’s and also the South Coast of NSW as a weekend destination for Sydneysiders.”

A very funky – Jazz in the Vines – 5 March

On the 5th March we will be bringing a very special soulful edition of Jazz in The Vines. The Escalators will be supported by DJ Nigel Gentry.  Nigel is a record collector originally from the UK and now based in Canberra.

He spins a mix of Northern Soul, Funk, 60’s/70’s Soul and R&B right through to the modern day sounds of Contemporary Funk and Soul.

He has been the support DJ for The Impellers, The Fantastics and Australia’s very own Randa and The Soul Kingdom. Nigel is also a founding member of the newly formed Capital City Soul Club. Canberra’s dedicated Soul, Funk and original R&B night.

The journey will begin in our beautiful vineyard where we will explain about the varieties grown on the property, the grape growing process and how and when we harvest. Our next stop is in our barrel room hidden under the hillside where we will talk about the fermentation process and the various decisions made by a winemaker when crafting each wine. We will then visit our micro brewery and explain all about the beer making process. Next we will take her to the Fromagerie where she will discover the many types of cheese and how they are developed. The tour will conclude with a tasting of our current wine releases in our Cellar Door overlooking the property’s stunning vista.   And Finally we will spoil your mum with a glass of Prosecco on arrival to Cupitt’s Kitchen followed by a delicious 3 course a la carte lunch in our award winning restaurant.  Each course will be paired with a glass of matching wine. The cost is $130.

Tours must be pre-booked are available from Wednesday- Sunday at 11am

Cupitt’s Kitchen is a finalist in the 2017 Savour Australia™ Restaurant & Catering Hostplus Awards For Excellence in NSW in the categories for:

PEOPLE, PRODUCE, PLACE TOURISM RESTAURANT

and

RESTAURANT IN A WINERY

Last year we won both categories and took out the Gold award in the Nationals for Restaurant in a Winery category. So the pressure is on!

We do feel privileged to be in the running against some very hot contenders including our buddies at Rick Stein Restaurant – Good Luck! Results will be revealed on the 18th September at Luna Park.

Cupitt’s Opening Hours

Cupitt’s Breezeway Bar is open from 10am – 5pm Wednesday – Sunday serving morning tea, cocktails, and our house made beer and wine. The bar and restaurant are open late on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Our bar menu showcases artisan cheeses made on site and a menu designed prepared by our team under the skillful guidance of Head Chef Russell Chinn.

Cupitt’s Kitchen will be offering a rotating selection of bar snacks, charcuterie, and cheese. Our beverages complement our strong local focus, with the selection of wine by the glass being wines we have produced at Cupitt’s. The cocktail list is built on classics with a local twist and includes collaborations with our local coffee roaster Maverick.

Cupitt’s takes casual bookings for all parties of 10 or more. Please call to make a booking. To book into the restaurant please check our bookings calendar for availability or call.

Our Historic Cellar Door is open from 10am – 5pm. Wednesday- Sunday.  Wine tasting is available free of charge and without an appointment are required for groups smaller than seven people.   For a comprehensive visit of what Cupitt’s has on offer book in for a tour which departs at 11 am ($30 per person).
